Copyright issues! As long as no money is involved (IE commercial use), all my art is free to use for tracing, referencing, icons, banners, edits, etc.
Credit (preferably with links back to my tumblr or DA) is greatly appreciated. I might send you a message asking for proper credit, unless you're just referencing my art (credit is still appreciated but I won't hound you for that).
But the general rule is if it's for non-commercial use, if you're having fun with it then I'm happy!
After giving my arm and wrist a break (and learning how to play Ragnarok Online left handed), my cubital and carpel tunnel syndrome seems to be much better! All commissions are back on (even large ones), though I may need to take periodic breaks every few weeks or so from them. I will update my journal and commission status accordingly. c:

In other news, I might be taking part in a My Little Pony art book organized by *purplekecleon!Okay so I picked a wonderful time to develop BOTH carpal tunnel and cubital tunnel in my right arm.
All large commissions will be closed until it heals. I will still be accepting smaller commissions - sketches, flat colors, ponies, pokemon, chibis, small animals, etc. Generally nothing much more than $30. But if you're curious at all, feel free to note me, I never mind it when someone has a question! Drop me your commission idea and I'll let you know if I can handle it.
Also another small thing: I no longer have a premium account. PLEASE DO NOT GIFT ME ONE! For years now whenever it has run out, wonderful people buy me another membership, and it's so humbling to have you all care about me so much. But I have not been as active on DA for a while now, and there's really no need for anyone to spend that money on me. The economy is really harsh right now! If you were planning on doing this, your thoughts really are more than enough. c:

I say depending on price since you have a varying price for shaded images! We can talk more!
Generally for shaded images with a simple background, it runs from around $15 - $30. Simple or cel shading is cheaper, while the "painted" style of shading runs more expensive.
As to the background...something foresty or jungle like would work.
